Operational Goals:
2008:
• Formation of the necessary partnerships with city councils and regional authorities.
• Formation of Israel Cycling Federation’s professional team for this project, to include educational advisor, advisory social worker, psychologist, and coordinator.
• Establishment of fourteen new cycling clubs around the country.
• Financial subsidize training of cycling instructors from the south of the country. Qualified cycling instructors who will take responsibility for the clubs’ activities are essential to the success of this project. The instructor must take his/her job seriously, be a good educator, a good role model for the youngsters, responsible, charismatic, and tolerant.
• In-service training for cycling instructors by Israeli professionals, including psychologists, bicycle mechanics.
• In-service training for cycling instructors by a cycling specialist from abroad with extensive experience instructing youth groups.
• Establishment of support for this project in Israel and abroad.
• Fund-raising and support from the Jewish community abroad.
• Co-opting students’ organizations and student volunteers to take part in this project.
2009:
• Enlarge the cycling club network in Israel.
• Appointment of 3 coordinators for this project; one for clubs in the north, one for those in the center, and one for the south.
• Continuation of in-service training scheme for cycling instructors.
• Establishment of training grounds for clubs, suited to children and youth.
2010:
• Establishment of clubs in every neighborhood of Israel’s main cities.
